The Sackler family that owned Perdue Pharma thought they had the best solution to stop pain.

It’s really along the lines of ‘Change one molecule in the formula and patent it as a new drug’ every 10yrs when the existing patent runs out and generic brands can be produced. Market it was a much better, stronger, more efficient drug than the previous version and triple the price.

    3. I mean thier far more money in treating some one for cancer for years vrs a single cure. Same with anything why cure it when you can collect government money from insurance for decades per person? I mean when was the last time we actually cured something? Covid “vaccine” came out super quick yet decades of research into cancer has gone no where.

    4. To OP’s point, here are some of the most common cancers I know about because my close family has survived them (and had insurance pay many hundreds of thousands of dollars for the treatment). Condolences to the families of people not as lucky.

**Testicular cancer:** Fatal in the 70s, cured by the 1990s.

**Pediatric lymphoblastic leukemia:** Fatal in the 60s, currently 94% survival rate.

**Localized thyroid cancer:**  4 year life expectancy before the 1950s, currently 99.9% survival rate.

None of these cancers are becoming *less* common, btw.

    5. If curing things was unprofitable – then “Big Pharma” wouldn’t be producing vaccines to any diseases, let alone make them government-mandated.

Anyone who finds an actual cure would not only NOT be assassinated – but would be considered a golden goose by any respectable pharmaceutical company.

    6. Cancer is not a single disease. Its more like a group of different diseases that can be caused by a bunch of different things and work in a whole bunch of different ways. You can cure certain cancers the same way you cure a bacterial infection with chemo. You can also prevent other cancers completely with stuff like the hpv vaccine. Saying there’s a hidden cure somewhere and big pharma is hiding it is dumb af. Its like saying there’s a miracle antibiotic hidden somewhere that cures any and all bacterial infections with a single dose. That’s just not how pharmacology or biology work.

    7. Also largely ignores chronic diseases like type 1 diabetes, which Pharma is financially incentivized to treat rather than cure.

Cuba has a lung cancer vaccine, but I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to get

    9. I’m not saying big pharma is great or that the system is perfect but they are the ones pumping billions into research. Without the competition in the market this causes many breakthrough medicines and treatments would not exist as it’s very expensive for governments to do. They are racing each other to cure things as the potential market is everyone. The idea they would hold stuff back is just stupid.

    10. While it’s true that “cancer” has no individual specific miracle cure, because it’s not a single disease, this is absolutely something big pharma would do. If you think corporations of any ethical code besides “make as much money as possible, if not more” then you are delusional.

    11. Spend billions killing/silencing anyone who has found a cure > spend billions to make trillions selling the most sought out cure of all time
